An accomplished singer, melodeon player, storyteller and educator, Nancy is perhaps best known as one of Scotland's foremost songwriters. Nothing fazes her. From the age-old themes of love, loss and betrayal to the transient issues of the day; it seems she can turn her pen to anything with her sometimes tender, sometimes cutting wit. Cunningly Temperate - The Scotsman Nancy is adept at tailoring a performance to a large or small audience of any age and for any occasion with a repertoire of songs ranging through Ballads, Burns and Bairns’ songs to Scottish standards and contemporary work by herself and other writers. Rhyme and Reason, Nancy’s first recording was originally released on cassette in 1990 and was Alastair Clark of The Scotsman's recording of the year. It is now in production as a CD and will be available at gigs from June onwards. Her songs have been covered by a variety of artists and bands at home and abroad, including The McCalmans, Enoch Kent, Frankie Armstrong, Anne Lorne Gilles and Stravaig.
